Ivory Media Services is a small media analysis, development, and marketing consulting service operated by Dr. James D. (Jimmy) Ivory, a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Communication at Virginia Tech (formally, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University). Dr. Ivory's social scientific background in research and theory pertaining to media research and communication technology allows Ivory Media Services the special opportunity to bring an academic perspective to its professional applications.

Because Dr. Ivory's primary committment is to his research, teaching, and service obligations at Virginia Tech, Ivory Media Services is necessarily judicious in taking on projects on a part-time basis. Though selective, Ivory Media Services has provided a broad range of contracted services ranging from site traffic analysis to Web site design and content development. Clients have been similary diverse, and rates are extremely reasonable.
